Privacy Policy for Extract PDF Images

Last updated: March 15, 2026

Extract PDF Images is a Chrome extension that lets a user select a PDF file, extract embedded images from that PDF, or render PDF pages as images, and download the result as a ZIP archive.

Data handling

PDF files selected by the user are currently processed locally in the browser. In future versions of the extension, files may be transmitted to our servers for processing in order to support additional features or improve performance. Any such change will be reflected in an updated version of this policy.

We may use analytics tools to collect aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g. feature usage frequency, error rates) in order to improve the extension. Such data does not include the contents of your files.

Future versions may offer optional account registration to enable additional features. Account data, if collected, will be limited to non-sensitive identifiers such as a username or email address and will not include financial, health, or location information.

Permissions

Storage and retention

PDF data and generated files are handled in memory during local processing and are not intentionally retained after processing is complete, except for files the user explicitly downloads to their own device.

If server-side processing is introduced in future versions, uploaded files will be used solely to perform the requested operation and will be deleted from our servers promptly after processing is complete.

Data sharing

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. We may share aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data with service providers solely for the purpose of improving the extension.
