How the tool works
Join-PDF.one runs in your browser. When you select PDF files, the merge happens locally in your browser memory. The site does not receive the PDF contents as part of this process.
Information we receive when you visit
- Standard request data sent by your browser to our hosting provider, such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, and referrer.
- Messages you send to us if you contact support.
Local storage
If you change the site language, the choice is stored in your browser using localStorage so it can be reused on your next visit.
Chrome Extension
Our Chrome Extension allows you to merge PDF files directly in your browser through a side panel interface.
- No File Collection: The extension does not collect, store, or transmit your PDF files. All merging happens entirely in your browser.
- Local Processing: Your files never leave your device.
- Anonymous Analytics: The extension sends anonymous usage events (e.g., install, open, merge completed) to our self-hosted analytics server (Umami, hosted by us). These events contain no personally identifiable information, no file names, and no file contents. No cookies are used. Data is not shared with third parties.
- Extension Detection: The extension adds a content script to join-pdf.one pages solely to detect if the extension is installed, allowing the website to update its interface (e.g., hide installation prompts).
- Permissions: The extension requests permissions for side panel display, file downloads, and sending analytics to our server (analytics.wrongorbit.com).
Third-party services
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Their servers receive requests for those font files as part of delivering the page.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The updated version will be posted on this page.
